ALL BREEDS CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOWS BY EMIRATES KENNEL CLUB IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE WORLD KENNEL UNION

The Dog Shows at the Pet Festivals are conducted under the umbrella of the EMIRATES KENNEL CLUB (EKC) based in the UAE. The EMIRATES KENNEL CLUB is affiliated to the WORLD KENNEL UNION (WKU). These All Breeds Dog Show Championships are conducted as per the rules and regulations of the WKU and judged by the WKU all breeds judges. Championship Titles, Trophies and Certificates are awarded to the Winners. 

The Dog owners have to register their dogs for the competition in advance. The Rules and Regulations and the Entry Form is given below.  Download / Copy the Entry form given below, Fill it with details and send to EKC's  email -emirateskennelclub@gmail.com and contact the EKC officials to arrange payment of entry fee.

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR DOG FOR THE WKU-CHAMPIONSHIP SHOWS

As per the World Kennel Union Show Rules, all dogs participating in the Championship Shows should be registered with the World Kennel Union. Dogs that are not registered with WKU can participate to get a grading from the judge, but will not receive Titles and cannot participate in Best in Shows.

STEP -1: To Register the dog in WKU from the UAE, the Dog Owner, Breeder or the Kennel has to first become the member of the Emirates Kennel Club. Download the EKC Membership form, fill it up and return to EKC along with the proof of payment. The Membership Fee is AED. 500 /- for Dog Owner, AED. 1000/- for Kennels & Breeders, Organizations and Professionals. A Membership Certificate with a Membership number will be issued. You can register as an Individual Member, or a Breeder Member or as a Kennel Member.

STEP - 2: Once you are a member, then Download the Single Dog Registration form and fill it with the Dog's Details and Return to EKC. The Dog Registration Fee is AED. 350/-  You will receive a Dog Registration No and a pedigree certificate from WKU. 

STEP - 3: This registered dog is eligible to participate in all WKU - EKC Dog Shows. Now you can register this Dog for the Championship Show by downloading the Dog Show Entry Form, filling it up and returning to EKC. The Show Entry Fee is AED. 80/- per dog for EKC members and AED. 120/- for Non members whose dogs already registered with the WKU.

World Kennel Union (WKU) regulations for dog shows

These REGULATIONS are created in accordance with the Charter of the WKU, in compliance with the principles of humane treatment of animals and binding for all countries-members of the WKU.     Application chart of shows of the WKU members   for the next year is accepted from 1st of November till 1st of December current year. The application shall be in writing, to the Chairmen of the expert and exhibition committee, indicating the status of the dog show, dates, locations, address, telephone and organizer of the dog show.

1. GENERAL REGULATIONS

1.1. Organization of dog show is carried out in accordance with this "Regulations".

1.2. The Country and city where the dog show will take place

1.3. Date of the event

1.4. Dog show rank: International (CAC, CACIB), National (CAC), Championship (CAC, CH), mono-breed dog show (CAC).

1.5. Dog shows can be both open and within one club.

1.6. Dog shows allowed dogs of all breeds, except for specialized (championship, monobreed dog shows).

1.7. Entry to the dog shows with the preliminary inclusion to the catalog and on the day of show without the inclusion to the catalog. Ring-numbers correspond to the numbers in the catalog and the numbers on the description-cards.

1.8. To the dogs are not included in the catalog the title is not assigned.

1.9. International dog shows of CACIB rank are carried out only indoors. In case of absence of venue place, satisfying the conditions of the dog show, in the period from April 1st to November 1st it is allowed to hold the dog show in open areas equipped with shelter from the sun and rain, the source of water and sanitary facilities for exhibitors.

1.10. The structure of ring-team should include:  ring Manager, Secretary working with an expert? Assistants (maximum of two) to work with the documents and, an interpreter if necessary.

1.11. No other people except for an expert, an interpreter, ring manager, secretaries and exhibitors can be in a ring.

1.12. Dog shows of CAC rank can be held in open areas, but should be equipped with shelter from the sun and rain, places for dog needs, have a source of water and sanitary facilities for exhibitors.

1.13. The organizing committee reserves the right not to accept the participation of anyone applied for participation.

1.14. Dog show of CAC rank is served by experts not less than the national category.

1.16. To participate in the show, dog owner must fill in application form indicating the exhibition class, breed, names, abbreviations and pedigree number, tattoo or microchip, date of birth, color, sex. Name and pedigree number of sir, name and pedigree number of dam of a dog, breeder name, owner’s name, complete mailing address, zip code, telephone number. Application form should be signed by the owner of the animal providing the photocopies of documents of origin

1.17. Dogs who are late to the ring can be examined and receive a evaluation, but without a title and the right to participate in the comparative competitions.

1.18. Expertise in the ring and on the competitions should not start before the time specified in the schedule of show.

1.19. The catalog of the dog show of any rank must contain:

- The list of judges, indicating the country of residence

- List of the Organizing Committee

- Regulations on the show.

- Schedule of dogs exposure by breed, days, rings and judges.

- Schedule of dog show events.

- List of dog breeds in WKU groups, in alphabetical order, with an indication of catalog numbers (corresponding to the numbers of exhibitors) in the total amount of participants.

 - List of exhibitors, which starts with the name of the WKU group, breed names, followed by the list of participants by gender and classes in the sequence of their exposure:

- BABY (males, then females)

- Puppies (males, then females)

- Juniors (males, then females)

- Male (sequentially by class - young, open, working, winners, champions, veterans)

- FEMALES (sequentially by class - young, open, working, winners, champions and veterans)

1.20 In those breeds, which have division in color, the  judgment  carries out by color in the sequence mentioned  above.

1.21 Numbering is in sequence for all exhibitors.

1.22 Full catalog data of each dog should include: № in the catalog, name of the dog, № of  pedigree of the dog, date of birth, color, name of the sir of the dog, name of dame of the dog, surname and initials of the breeder, the name and initials of the owner indicating the city / country.

1.23 The quantity of the catalogs cannot be less than the number of participants.

1.24. No empty numbers is allowed in the catalog. Titles of a dogs not included in the dog show catalog, are not supported.

1.25. Organizer and participants of a show must comply with veterinary laws of the country where the dog show is held.

1.26. Dogs who are not participating in a show are not allowed to enter to the territory of the dog shows.

1.27. The owner and the dog belonging to him as well as the handler may be disqualified from participation in all zoo-technical events held by WKU from 6 months to indefinitely:

  - For providing false information when registering for the dog show

  - For non-compliance with the rules of the show;

  - For attempting to influence the decision of the expert;

   -For permissible dog aggression in relation to other participants of the show;

  - For unethical behavior in relation to the experts, organizers or other exhibitors.

  - For being on the territory of the show under the alcohol influence.

1.28. At the end of the year, the countries- members of the WKU should submit report of a held out dog show to the exhibition committee (indicating dates, titles). The report should be submitted before the end of current year.

2. SHOW CLASSES

2.1. The examination is carried out in the following classes:

• baby from 3 to 6 months;

• puppies from 6 to 9 months ;

• juniors from 9 to 18 months;

• young dogs from 15 to 24 months;

• Open from 18 months and older;

• working from 18 months or older (with diplomas on training or field trials of WKU);

• winners from 15 months (in case of obtaining at least of 2 CAC certificate ) ;

• Champions (in case of obtaining a certificate of national champion of the country - member of the WKU) ;

• Veterans from 10 years and older (lower limit of age can be permitted by countries members of the WKU);

3. EVALUATION, AWARDS, TITLES

3.1. In all classes except for baby and puppies classes following evaluation can be earned: "excellent", "very good", "good", "satisfactory". Baby and puppies evaluation is are estimated by  "very promising", "promising", "low perspective".

3.2. Dogs with eliminating faults are not evaluated.

3.3. Placing in the ring is carried out for dogs obtaining mark "excellent", and defined only the first three places, the rest at the discretion of the expert.

3.4. Dogs who won first place in the ring, at the discretion of the expert can be given a title:

3.5. Titles:

- CACIB-WKU (Candidate for International Champion of Beauty) - is awarded only at international dogs shows to a female and a dog winning the comparative ring among  young, open, working, winners and champions classes.

 - R.CACIB-WKU (reserve candidate for International Champion of Beauty) - awards to the female and the stud dog similarly to entitlement of CACIB but to those dogs, who were placed  2-ond in comparative ring of young, open, working, winners and champions classes.

- CAC-WKU (candidate for national champions of beauty) - awards to the best female and male, who won first place with an evaluation mark excellent in the young, open, working, winners and champions classes.

- R.CAC-WKU (reserve candidate for national champions of beauty) - awards to the female and the dog, won second place with a mark excellent in the young, open, working, winners and champions classes.

- BOB (Best of Breed) - Awards when comparing the best male dog and female of a breed. BOB is not awarded in the junior class.

-WJC - (Candidate for young national champion of Beauty) - awards to the best female and male dog, who won first place with a mark excellent in the junior class. The best representative of the class is sent to the   best juniors in group competition.

All reserved certificates may be awarded only on condition that the main certificates are awarded . So, R.CAC cannot be awarded if CAC certificate was not awarded,  and no R.CACIB can be awarded unless CACIB was awarded .

At the international dog shows, the judge, at its discretion, may assign title CAC to a dog , but do not assign CACIB.

BIS-B, BIS-P, BIS-J, BIS-V (these titles are awarded at the discretion of the organizers of a show) - Best Baby, Puppy, Junior,  veteran of the show are selected by comparing the best baby, puppies, juniors and veterans of all breeds participating in the show.

-BIG (Best in Group) - the best in group WKU, in each group among the Best of Breed (BOB). Judge determines at least 3 best dogs, the first of which earns title BIG .

-BIS (Best in Show) - Best dog in Show, comparing the winners of the groups WKU (BIG), the first of which earns title BIS .

4. Comparative COMPETITIONS

4.1. According to the results of the comparative competitions following categories are determined:

• Best in Show.

• Best in group.

• Best of Breed.

• Class winner

• Best Male of Breed

• Best Female of Breed

• Best Junior in Show

• Best junior in group.

• Best Junior of Breed

• Best Puppy in Show

• Best Puppy in Group.

• Best puppy of breed.

• Best veteran in show

4.2. Best puppy. Males and females can be examined in the same ring. If the ring is divided by gender male and female should be compared, winner earns the title of "Best Puppy". Similarly for the baby class.

4.3. Best Puppy in Show. All puppies of all breeds, who have been awarded with title "Best Puppy" compete with each other

4.4. Best Junior of Breed. Compete male and female who won first place in the junior class.

4.5. Best junior in group. Compete Best Junior of all Breeds.

4.6. Best Junior in Show. Compete best juniors of groups.

4.7. The winner of the class. Compete dogs in the young , open, winners,, working and champions class.

4.8. Best Male and Best Female. Males and females, who received the title of winner in the young dog, winners, open, working and champions class compete separately .

4.9. Best of Breed. Compete  Best Male and Best female.

4.10. Best in group. Compete  best of breed within the group.

4.11. Best in Show (Best in show). Compete best representatives of all groups.

4.12. Best Veteran in show. Compete veterans of all breeds in the same ring.

4.13. In the competition for the title of Best Junior in Group, Best in Group determined three places. The competition for the title of Best in Show is determined by five places.

5 COMPETITIONS:

5.1 There are competitions of stud couples, kennel competition, progeny competition, as well as contests and handling championships on the dog show.

5.2 Participation in the competitions of stud couples, kennels and progeny competition is permissible if is registered in the catalog. Expertise in these rings is carried out by an expert. Participants receive a diploma indicating the placement.

5.3.Stud  Couple: participating dogs of the same breed (male and female), any age  belonging to the same owner.

5.4. Kennel competition : Represented gods of the same breed , any age, bred by the same breeder ( kennel) registered in the national organization- member of the WKU. To participate in the competition the owner of a kennel should register for the contest listing all dogs participating in the competition and provide photocopies of certificates of origin (WKU). The number of dogs must be at least three. 5.5. Progeny competition:  Can participate Sir or Dam with their pro-genies.

   A) Sir should have at least two progeny from each represented litters. Total offspring at least four.

   B) Dam (taking into account the decorative breeds) must be presented at least two progeny.        

 

6.EXPERTISE

6.1 Expertise should be carried out by qualified experts  of  WKU.

6.2. Evaluation of a dog is awarded by expert personally shall be final and not appealable.

6.3. The expert has the right to refuse to evaluate a dog and send it out from the ring, if the owner or handler behaves unethically, as well as in cases of dog cowardice or aggression towards expert or anyone else.

6.4. The expert has the right to consult with colleagues in dealing with controversial issues, but the final decision is taken by him personally.

6.5. The expert has no right to examine the dogs belonging to him or his family members.

6.6. Secretaries, assistants, interns do not have the right to expose their dogs in the ring, where they are working.

6.7. Dogs in the ring for the examination are shown on a soft collar, or ring leash. Expertise is not allowed if dogs on a strict collar, muzzled, with medals or electric collar.

6.8. When evaluating an animal by contact method, an expert should use antiseptic provided by the organizers.

6.9. When dogs pose in the ring double handling is prohibited.

7. AWARDS

7.1. Dogs which have been awarded by  "excellent", "very good", "good' may be awarded a medal or token.

7.2. All participants of the Best in Show may be awarded premium outlets, pennants, cups - "Participant of Best in show"

7.3. Best Veteran awarded a prize.

7.4. Best in Show gets the grand prize.

7.5. Additional awards and prizes may be established by the organizers of the dog show.

8. LEGAL ISSUES

8.1. Claims on the results of the examination are not accepted.

8.2. Transaction of dogs from one class to another is not allowed.

8.3. In case of refuses to participate in the dog show the registration fee will not be refunded. 

8.4. The organizers are obliged to hold an exhibition in time. In the case of civil unrest, natural disasters, epidemics and other

force-majeure cases, show is not carried out, registration fee are not refundable.

Sanctions for violation of show rules.

- For the late submission of the schedule of dog shows,

- For violation of the schedule of dog shows,

- For inviting judges not licensed in the WKU,

- For violation of the rules of assignment of titles,

- For violation of terms of dog show report submission.

The SANCTIONS

- Warning

- Temporary ban on international exhibitions

- For the systematic violation - exclusion from members of the WKU

Regulations for WKU Entitlement

Junior Champion of (WKU) Entitlement

Option 1. The title "Junior Champion" is issued in exchange for at least 2 certificates of BJC (WKU) (other amount can be  estimated by national organization-member of WKU), obtained from different experts (repeat not more than one).

Option2.  The title "Junior Champion" is given in case of earning of 1 BJC (WKU) on special national championship of the country. (See. WKU championship regulations)

Option 3: For residents of other countries the "Junior Champion" title is given in case of obtaining of the diploma "Junior Champion" of their country and a BJC (WKU) certificate obtained from the International dog shows.

Certificate BJC (WKU) is awarded only in the junior class.

To obtain "Junior Champion" title following documents should be presented:

1 Copy of pedigree (original shall be presented for verification or assigning of a single number in the Single Pedigree book of the national organization- member of WKU)

2. Photocopies and originals (blanked) of certificates.

3. Copies of diplomas.

4. The application for a certificate.

National Champion Entitlement

Option 1: The title "National Champion" is issued in exchange for at least 3 CAC (WKU) certificates (other amount can be estimated by national organization-member of WKU), obtained from different experts (repeat not more than ones) in the country, one of the certificates (other amount can be  estimated by national organization-member of WKU) must be obtained at the dog show of  international status.

Option 2: In case of earning of the “Best Male" or “Best Female" title at the National Championship of CAC rank. (see. the rules of the championship in the system WKU)

Option 3: For residents of other countries  the "National Champion" title is awarded in case of obtaining a certificate of "National Champion" of his country - member of the WKU and  CAC (WKU) certificate, obtained on the National dog show of the country in the Champion class.

 CAC (WKU) certificate is awarded starting from a “young dogs" class.

To obtain the title of "National Champion" the following documents should be presented:

1 Copy of pedigree (original shall be presented for verification or assigning of a single number in the Single Pedigree book of the national organization- member of WKU)

2. Copies and originals (blanked) of CAC certificates.

3. Copies of diplomas and description-cards.

4. The application for a certificate.

 

INTER CHAMPION (WKU) Entitlement

The  "International Champion" title issued after the title of "National Champion" in the WKU system  is obtained,  in the exchange of 3 CACIB (WKU )certificates, under 3 different experts,  earned on the dog shows of  international status. Two certificates must be received at the international dog shows of the country and one abroad.

Certificate CACIB (WKU) is awarded starting from the intermediate class.

To obtain the title of "International Champion" following documents should be presented:

1 Copy of pedigree (original shall be presented for verification )

2. Copies and originals of certificates.

3. The application for a certificate addressed to the Presidency.

GRAND CHAMPION of a COUNTRY ENTITLEMENT

The title of "Grand Champion" can be assigned upon obtaining of 3 certificates of "National Champion" of  countries- members of WKU.

To obtain the title of "Grand Champion” following documents should be presented:

1 Copy of pedigree (original shall be presented for verification )

 2. Copies and original of “National Champion" certificates of the country.

2. An application for a certificate.

The Title is awarded only once.

MULTI CHAMPION (WKU) Entitlement

The title of "Multi Champion" awards by the country-member of WKU under provision of certificates: "Grand Champion", "Inter Champion" and 3 certificates of "National Champion" of three different countries- members of WKU.

 The title is awarded once

To obtain the title of "Multi Champion"  following documents should be presented:

1 Copy of pedigree (original shall be presented for verification )

2. Copies of certificates of : "Grand Champion", "Inter Champion" and 3 certificates of "National Champion" of other countries (the originals should be presented for verification).

 3. The application for a certificate of "Multi Champion» of  WKU. 

 

BALTIC JUNIOR CHAMPION entitlement

Option 1: The title "Junior Champion of the Baltic" awards by the Baltic country- member of WKU, at the place of residence of an exhibitor, under granting of the certificates of  "Junior Champion" issued by 3 Baltic countries.

Option 2: The title "Junior Champion of the Baltic" is issued in the provision of 1 BJC (WKU), earned at the Baltic Championship   (see. The rules of the championship in the system WKU).

The title is awarded once.

To obtain the title of "Junior Champion of the Baltic" following documents should be presented:

1 Copy of pedigree (original shall be presented for verification )

2. Photocopies of 3 certificates of  "Junior Champion" of different Baltic countries (the originals are  presented for verification).

3. The application for a certificate "Champion of the Baltic» of WKU.

BALTIC CHAMPION Entitlement

Option 1: The title of "Baltic Champion " awards by the  Baltic country- member of WKU, at the place of residence of an exhibitor, under  granting  of the  certificates of "National Champion" of  3 different countries (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia).

Option 2: In case of earning of the  "Best Male" or  "Best Female" title at the  Baltic Championship  States. (See. The rules of the championship in the system of WKU).

The title is awarded once.

To obtain the title of "Champion of the Baltic" following documents should be presented:

1 Copy of pedigree (original shall be presented for verification)

2. Photocopies of 3 certificates of “National Champion" of different countries (the originals are presented for verification).

3. The application for a certificate of "Champion of the Baltic» of WKU.
