DOG AGILITY COMPETITION

 

 

Since there are not many dogs trained in Agility courses and the trend is slowly catching up, Emirates Kennel Club is arranging the Agility competitions as per the below mentioned rules and regulations. As more participants come along in the future the rules will be amended accordingly

 

The Ring will be set up with 10 items of challenges for your dog.  The competitions will be conducted by trained personnel and judged by renowned judges from international circles.

 

 

The Dogs are divided into two main Groups

 

Small Breeds (less than 15 kg)

Large breeds (more than 15 kg)

 

Competitions will be held in two Categories

 

On Lead (leash) and Off Lead

For Small Breeds - On Lead (leash) and Off Lead

For Large Breeds - On Lead (leash) and Off Lead

 

Classes:

 

Small dogs - on lead  (less than 15 kg)

Small dogs - off lead  (less than 15kg)

Large dogs - on lead  (more than 15kg)

Large dogs - off lead  (more than 15kg)

 

Awards:

 

Small dogs on lead will be placed 1st to 3rd

Small dogs off lead will be placed 1st to 3rd

 

Large dogs on lead will be placed 1st to 3rd

Large dogs off lead will be placed 1st to 3rd

 

 

The winner of the Small dog on lead and the winner of Large dog on lead will compete against each other for the overall  - Agility On Lead Winner.

 

The winner of the small dog off lead and the winner of large dog off lead will compete against each other for the overall  - Agility Off Lead Winner.

 

Rules & Regulations:

 

On Lead:

 

All exercises are performed on lead.

 

The handler can verbally encourage the dog as much as they want, using as many commands and praise as needed.

 

No food, toys or treats are allowed in the ring at all whilst competing.

 

The handler may not physically help the dog during the competition, for example, may not pick a dog up over a jump, carry a dog across the see-saw etc.

 

Off Lead:

 

All exercises are performed off lead.

 

The dog is not allowed to do any exercises on lead.

 

The handler can verbally encourage the dog as much as they want, using as many commands and praise as needed. No food, toys or treats are allowed to be used to lure the dog whilst competing.

 

The handler may not physically help the dog during the competition, for example, may not pick a dog up over a jump, carry a dog across the see-saw etc.

You can practice with your dog at the ring before and after the competitions. Please ask the Team to assist you

Click Above pic and watch video how trained dogs perform . Start your dog on each item slowly first with your assistance and rewards. Pick up speed gradually. You and your dog will enjoy this sport.
